See the numbers

Dear community member,

Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) folks in Duluth have long shared their experiences of racial profiling and violence at the hands of the Duluth Police Department (DPD). In order to put numbers to these impactful personal experiences and add evidence to the systemic nature of the problem, concerned citizens on our team have performed multiple studies.

All numbers used in the study were received directly from the county or police department. Further analysis was performed and calculations were confirmed by multiple sources with professional experience in statistics. We would be happy to answer any questions about calculations or methodology. Raw copies of data can be accessed at the bottom of each study.

We look forward to seeing more comprehensive studies performed by professionals, community members, and students to further expand upon the results that we found in these initial studies.
